Autumn Concert – Songs & Supper
Posted on: November 9, 2015
As a departure from the usual concert format, SCC’s Autumn concert was free with a very sociable supper to follow. It was held in St Francis’s church in Salisbury and 170 people enjoyed the pumpkin soup and ploughman’s produced by some very hard-working members of the choir.
The music ranged from “The Cantique de Jean Racine” by Gabriel Fauré to a beautiful arrangement of “The Streets of London” by Jonathan Rathbone and was much appreciated by the audience. The retiring collection was in aid of the Wiltshire Bobby Van Trust, whose mission is to help elderly and disadvantaged people who have been victims of, or may be at risk of house crime, hate crime, domestic abuse or fire.
